Hi there! My name is Charlene Richards, and I am a on-air storyteller and multimedia journalist. I am a recent graduate of The George Washington University with a B.A. in political science and journalism/mass communications, and I just finished a wonderful internship with NBC News under Kristen Welker and their political unit, and I also just turned down an opportunity to attend my dream school Columbia University to instead dive right into field work and on-air local news reporting.

I have experience in writing, pitching, producing, and reporting/anchoring through my time interning for my local newspaper Trenton Daily at the mere age of 17, with CNN for The Lead with Jake Tapper, on Capitol Hill for Congresswoman Kelly, J.P. Morgan for their Advancing Black Pathways Program, and during my time at the NABJ newscasts and WBRC in Birmingham, AL where I reported on and anchored during the NABJ convention. 

I got my start in journalism at the age of 17 after a NJ reporter mic'd me up on the first day of my senior year of high school in a brand new state of the arts high school after terrible building conditions which separated thousands of students. That broadcast clip circulated around my town, Trenton, NJ opening the door for me to intern at my local newspaper Trenton Daily! I covered stories on affordable housing, on a wonderful 11 year old boy with Leukemia, and on community initiatives which grew my passion to amplify voices and tell the stories of others.
